Vitriolic (2025) is my favorite project.
It began with a chance encounter
with designer Ilke Gunay a week prior
to the shoot. She had a dress, I had a camera,
we had a shared love for cyanotypes.
Everything else fell into place.
We processed the cyanotypes in
Ilke's shower and exposed them
under what Amsterdam generously
calls sunlight.
During the shoot, I discovered that
both the model and the secondary
photographer (shooting on film)
were both old friends I hadn't seen
in some time. Synergy is a word that
usually makes me shiver, but there truly
is no better one for what occured
that day.
The success of the work,
its exhibition by galleries
and publication in magazines,
is more than a testament to
our creative execution.
It rests on the shoulders
of true creative collaboration
and collective excitement.
